Overview N'Kob:
N’kob is the capital village of the Berber tribe Ait Atta, a province of zagora Ouarzazate. Ait Atta is an ancient Berber tribe that existed before the entry of Arabs and Muslims into Morocco in the 7th century; it was the most important Moroccan tribe between the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries.
The village of N’Kob, a concentration of history and tradition N’Kob is the most famous village in Morocco for its 45 Kasbahs, which in Arabic means citadel, fortress; in practice, it is a square area surrounded by high walls, built in straw and mud. They are one of the symbols that characterizes Morocco, and it is possible to find many around the country. At each corner of the walls there is an elegant tower pierced by arches, carved by niches and rhomboidal motifs or surmounted by struts.
Inside the Kasbah there are various houses, shops, granaries and the castle of the local lord. Generally these citadels were built on top of a hill, so that they could dominate the valley and spot possible enemies.

One of the most sold products is almonds; they are organically grown in the neighboring valleys and represent a true symbol of the traditional N’Kob market.
